Dawin and Silento Serve Up A Sweet Pool Party in ‘Dessert’ Video: Premiere
Dawin knows a thing or two about how to start a trend. (Seriously — he’s already got two songs that have gone way, way viral across social media worldwide.)
The rapidly rising multi-hyphenate — he’s a singer, songwriter, producer, rapper and instrumentalist among other things — first captured the world’s attention with his infectious “Just Girly Things” last year, which featured one unbelievably catchy beat drop (“THE BEAT GO HARD THOUGH!“) that immediately blew up on Vine, generating over 4 million Spotify streams and climbing into the Top 30 of the US Dance Charts last year.
After inking a major label deal with Republic Records, the Brooklyn-bred star returned this year with an even more tasty serving: “Dessert,” the title track of his newly released Dessert EP, featuring “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” rapper Silentó.
And, just as with “Just Girly Things,” the catchy club cut has since sparked dozens of viral clips across social media, including Matt Steffanina’s #DessertDance choreography video, which has racked up over 4.5 million views and counting.
This morning, PopCrush is happy to supply the cherry on top: The official music video for “Dessert.” And evidently, Dawin also knows how to throw one hell of a sweet party.
With an ice cream truck and his buddy Silentó in tow, Dawin rolls up for what looks like one unmissable house/pool party full of bikini babes, dessert-shaped inflatables (#OnBrand!) and more than a few furry mascots that seriously know how to turn up and twerk. But are people in animal costumes good party guests?
“I definitely believe so. My mascot toothpick creates a humorous vibe everywhere we go. That insane scene in ‘Dessert’ was so energetic and mind-blowing because so many awesome people were on set, we had a blast!” he tells PopCrush.
No need to wait until after dinner for this one: Grab a spoon and dig into Dawin’s insane “Dessert” clip above, and if you’re feeling the sugar rush, make sure to check out the full Dessert EP, which also includes a feature by our recent PopCrush Instagram takeover friends, Kalin & Myles.
